Volunteering with Campus Kitchens UVM is a great way to get involved in connecting with your local community, as well as the UVM student volunteer base! We love inviting new volunteers to come join us at as many shifts as you would like to commit to. There is no requirement for how many shifts you must sign up for each month, in fact, you do not even need to volunteer for any if you are having a particularly busy month! The only thing we ask is that if you do sign up for a shift that you can not make, you email us that you will not be attending ahead of time so we can find you a replacement.
Sundays 8:00 am-11:30 pm at the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf
The Sundays shift are all about cooking and serving! At this shift you will be assigned parts of a LARGE meal to help cook. The meals are prepared using vegetables donated in our Intervale Food Hub CSA, as well as locally donated dry goods. The patrons begin coming into the food shelf around 10:00, and once all the food is served around 11:30 we start our clean up, and washing dishes. This is a great shift for all of our volunteers who do not live on UVM campus, as it is located in the heart of downtown!
If you want to volunteer with us, please fill out this form and tell us which date we can sign you up for!!!!
We arrange transport to our off-site shifts, but if you are driving yourself or walking, please check out these addresses:
